The modern idea of “awakening” has been softened until it’s meaningless.

That isn’t awareness.That’s emotional anesthesia.
Real awakening is disruptive. It fractures identity. It dismantles routines that kept you functional but blind. It rewires relationships by exposing which ones were built on truth—and which ones survived only because you were asleep.
Awareness does not arrive with comfort. It arrives with cost.
Comfort is the enemy of sight. The more comfortable you are, the less incentive you have to question the structure you’re inside. Awareness removes the padding. It takes away the explanations that made your life feel safe. What’s left is reality—unfiltered and indifferent to your preferences.
Pain is not a malfunction in this process.Pain is data.
Pain tells you where illusion was doing the work for you.Pain marks the collapse of identities that no longer align with what you can see.
This is why most people retreat.They mistake discomfort for failure and return to sleep.
