Not all harm is loud.
Some of the most damaging choices arrive gently—through avoidance, silence, and staying when truth demands movement.
Comfort convinces people to tolerate misalignment indefinitely. It rewards endurance over honesty. It reframes stagnation as loyalty.
But staying comfortable while becoming less yourself is not commitment.
It’s erosion.
Each unspoken truth removes another layer of identity. Each avoided conflict trains the nervous system to shrink.
Love expands capacity.
Comfort contracts it.
And eventually, people don’t recognize who they became while trying not to rock the boat.
